Northwest STEM Night

Over 325 people participated in Northwest School's STEM night. Students showcased their STEM projects with their families and learned about force with race cars, plant and animal survival, and sound. A special thank you to Barnes and Noble for providing additional STEM activities.

Autism Awareness

Northwest students did several activities to learn more about autism and raise awareness in the school community. Classrooms participated in a door decorating contest and there was a raffle to raise money for the cause.

Mother and Son Bowling

The Northwest MIA hosted mother/son bowling. Students and their mothers had fun eating pizza and bowling. Thank you to the MIA for hosting the great event!

St. Baldrick's Event

Northwest held a St. Baldrick's event on March 24th in which 30 students, staff members, and parents raised close to $11,000 and braved the shave. Money raised from the event goes to fund childhood cancer research.

Special Person's Day 2017

Students invited their special person to come see Northwest on March 9th, 2017. Students interviewed their special person, visited the book fair, and enjoyed a snack with them.

Northwest Talent Show

Northwest students showcased their talents at the Talent Show on February 23, 2017. Students sang, acted, danced, performed magic, and entertained students and families.

A Long Way From Chicago-- Chapter 7 Trivia Question

This week's trivia question comes from Chapter 7 of A Long Way from Chicago. The first correct answer from any three (3) schools to this week's trivia question will win a gift certificate for a free ice cream cone from Oberweis Dairy. Your name, school, and grade are required. You can then type your answer to the question and it will be sent to the Evergreen Reads Committee electronically. Dr. Machak will deliver the winners' gift certificates to them at their school next week. Thank you for your support of Evergreen Reads - look for a new trivia question in this space each week!

After School Activities Canceled: March 14th

Due to falling wind chill temperatures and the forecast for more lake effect snow this afternoon, all student-based clubs, sports, and activities scheduled for after school today, March 14, have been canceled, The adult continuing education classes scheduled for this evening will still be held as planned. Thank you for your understanding and support.
